Skyland Trail Joins Kind30

March is recognized as Kindness Month, a time to celebrate and encourage acts of compassion, empathy, and generosity. Whether through small gestures like a kind word or larger efforts like volunteer work, practicing kindness fosters connection and improves well-being for both the giver and receiver.

This month serves as a reminder that even the simplest acts of kindness can profoundly impact individuals and communities.

KIND30 is a movement founded in Atlanta in spring 2024 by three women—Beth Abernathy, Diane Moffett, and Julie Salisbury—aiming to promote intentional acts of kindness daily for 30 days, emphasizing that “Kindness Is Needed Daily.” Inspired by personal experiences and recognizing the positive impact of kindness on mental wellness, they launched the initiative in October 2024, coinciding with World Mental Health Day. The program encourages participation from individuals, families, workplaces, faith communities, and organizations, providing resources and ideas suitable for all ages on its website. The inaugural effort saw tens of thousands across the U.S., including major corporations and local groups, embracing the challenge to integrate kindness into daily life.
