Skyland Trail Expands Contracts with TRICARE East and Optum/United Behavioral Health/Oscar Health
Effective April 1, 2022, the Skyland Trail adult residential treatment program is now in-network with many plans offered by Humana Military / TRICARE East for adults ages 18 to 20. This expands Skyland Trail’s contract with Humana Military / TRICARE East which previously included adult day treatment and intensive outpatient programs for covered dependents ages 18 to 26 and all adult primary beneficiaries as well as adolescent residential treatment and day treatment for adolescent dependents ages 14 to 17.
Effective May 17, 2022, the Skyland Trail adult and adolescent treatment programs at all levels of care will be in-network with many plans offered by Optum/United Behavioral Health/Oscar Health.
Skyland Trail mental health treatment programs are contracted with several private insurance providers. Skyland Trail also offers opportunities for families to request reimbursement for a portion of treatment costs from non-contracted insurance providers. Medicaid and Medicare do not cover treatment at Skyland Trail.
Most clients entering Skyland Trail psychiatric treatment programs use a combination of insurance benefits, private pay, and financial aid awards (if eligible) to cover the full costs of treatment. Financial counseling is available to all families during the admissions process to ensure that they understand their financial responsibility before enrolling in treatment.
As a nonprofit organization, Skyland Trail awards approximately $2 million each year in financial aid awards to adult and adolescent client families.
