Skyland Trail Adds New Board Members and Advisors in 2025
Atlanta, GA – Skyland Trail, a nationally recognized nonprofit mental health treatment organization for adults and adolescents, welcomed new officers and members to its leadership boards for 2025.

Ty Smith was elected chair of the Skyland Trail Board of Directors. Smith joined the Skyland Trail Advisory Board in 2018 and the Board of Directors in 2020. He served as vice chair of the Board of Directors from 2022 to 2024. Smith is senior vice president of wealth management for Regions Bank.

Patty Reid, community volunteer, was elected vice chair. Fred Sturgis, managing director at Resurgens Technology Partners, was elected treasurer. Andrea Rollins, community volunteer, was elected secretary.
Skyland Trail elected two new members to the Board of Directors: Larry Connolly, MBA, President of the Connolly Family Foundation, and Valerie Love, community volunteer. Responsibilities of the Skyland Trail Board of Directors include confirming the organization remains mission-focused, maintaining its financial health, and ensuring quality care for patients.
Don Inman, Betts Love, Melissa Lowe, and Michelle Sullivan completed their Board service in 2024 and were recognized for their dedication and contributions. All four were elected to join the Emeritus Board in 2025. Skyland Trail elected six new members to the Advisory Board: Cynthia Bateman, Partner at AlixPartners; Paula Dickey, retired president, Micro-Tel, Inc.; Casey Flanagan, director of the ZWJ Investment Counsel; John Rex Fuqua, land specialist at Macallan Real Estate; Jana Portman Simmons, President, Portman Financial; and Rev. Dr. Simon Mainwaring, rector at All Saints’ Episcopal Church. Brennan Spry, managing director of J.P. Morgan Securities was appointed as Chair of the Advisory Board. The Advisory Board provides advice and counsel to senior leadership, staff, and the Board of Directors in addition to establishing connections and involvement with the community.
