Hunter Elected to the Georgia Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Board
Atlanta, GA – Dr. Ben Hunter, Skyland Trail psychiatrist and medical director of outpatient services, was recently elected to the board of directors of the Georgia chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), effective January 1, 2018.
“The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention of Georgia is excited to have Dr. Hunter join our board of directors,” says AFSP Georgia board chair Roland Behm. “He continues the strong tradition of the Skyland Trail community partnering with AFSP Georgia to help save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide.”
Based in Atlanta, the Georgia chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention focuses on eliminating the loss of life from suicide in Georgia. The chapter delivers innovative prevention programs, educates the public about risk factors and warning signs, as well as raises funds for suicide research and programs. AFSP also reaches out to those individuals who have lost someone to suicide. AFSP Georgia is one of 50 chapters across the country.
