Community Unites at Beth C. Jones Pickleball Tournament to Support Skyland Trail’s Mental Health Programs
ATLANTA–The Beth C. Jones Pickleball Tournament, held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, raised over $77,000 in support of Skyland Trail, a leading nonprofit organization providing mental health treatment for adults and teens in Atlanta. Funds raised from the tournament will support treatment programs and financial aid, helping clients in need complete life-changing treatment.
Financial aid allows clients at Skyland Trail to participate in and complete psychiatric residential treatment and day treatment programs. Clients benefit from evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and holistic wellness programs. Skyland Trail also offers cutting-edge treatments including transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and esketamine therapy.
Lauren M., a graduate of Skyland Trail’s adult program, shares her gratitude, “Skyland Trail didn’t just change my life, it gave me the tools to create a life worth living. I’m forever thankful for the support I received, including financial aid, which made it possible for me to find hope and a path forward.”
The tournament honors the life of Beth C. Jones, a passionate advocate for mental health who understood the importance of advancing the mission of Skyland Trail in the community through volunteering and philanthropy. Jones served 15 years on the Skyland Trail Board of Directors and 11 years as a Board Emeritus. She passed away on December 28, 2022.
This special event was organized by Leslie Wierman, Deborah Bald and Anna Paré, MD, and included participation from Jones’s family, friends, and community members who came together to celebrate her lasting impact.
Held at the Atlanta Pickleball Center, the tournament featured 32 teams in a doubles match-play format, with Michael Bald and Ridings Bald emerging as the winning team.
