Residential DBT Program
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is proven to be the most effective therapy for individuals diagnosed with borderline personality disorder or struggling with extreme emotions, intense relationships, cutting and self-harm, or impulsive behaviors. Skyland Trail offers DBT residential treatment programs for adults ages 18 and older and adolescents ages 14 to 17.
Our adult DBT program and teen DBT program are model-adherent, with intensively trained DBT treatment teams. Our experts receive training from Behavioral Tech, founded by DBT creator Marsha Linnehan.
Our residential DBT programs in Georgia, sometimes referred to as inpatient DBT, offer 24/7 care and support. Clients reside in private patient rooms with private bathrooms in our mental health treatment facilities. Skyland Trail is a welcoming community for adults and teens of all identities and backgrounds.
Adult DBT Residential Treatment Program
Skyland Trail offers a 90-day DBT program for adults ages 18 and older. Adult residential DBT clients participate in daily DBT skills groups, receive weekly one-on-one sessions with a dedicated DBT therapist, and have access to 24/7 coaching from DBT intensively trained clinicians. Clients admit to residential treatment and step down to the day treatment (PHP) and IOP levels of care to complete the 90-day program. Our holistic residential treatment program includes nutrition and wellness, school and career preparedness, interfaith pastoral counseling, and art, music, and horticultural therapy.
Adolescent DBT Residential Treatment Program
Teens who admit to the Skyland Trail adolescent residential treatment program are assigned to the DBT track or the CBT track. The teen residential DBT program helps clients learn skills to handle intense emotions and difficult situations. Teens receive support to feel in control of their feelings and behaviors and empowered to make healthy choices. The adolescent residential DBT program includes family therapy and education. Clients in the teen DBT program receive academic support, participate in daily recreation and fitness activities, and learn to use art, music, and nature as tools to their sustain mental health.
Insurance Accepted
Our residential DBT programs are in-network with most major insurance plans, including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, ComPsych, Magellan, Optum/United Behavioral Health/Oscar Health, and Humana Military / TRICARE East. Medicare and Medicaid do not cover our services at any level of care. Financial aid is available to eligible families to reduce private pay costs.
