Join our psychiatric nursing team in atlanta

Skyland Trail has open nursing jobs in Atlanta. We are looking for registered nurses (RN) and licensed professional nurses (LPN) to join our clinical team. Full-time nursing, part-time nursing, and PRN nursing positions are available. Registered nurses and licensed professional nurses may work daytime or nighttime shifts to help provide 24/7 care to our clients.

Skyland Trail is a nonprofit mental health residential treatment organization for adults and adolescents located in Atlanta, Georgia. For more than 30 years, we have been inspiring people with mental illness to thrive through a holistic program of evidence-based psychiatric treatment, integrated medical care, research, and education. Skyland Trail is accredited by The Joint Commission.

RNs and LPNs are a vital part of our clinical team who deliver care to clients seeking treatment for mood, anxiety, and thought disorders. Skyland Trail is a voluntary, unlocked facility. Licensed as a personal care home, Skyland Trail campuses include gardens, private patient rooms, and common rooms that provide a therapeutic, healing environment for our clients and families.

Though struggling with their mental illness, Skyland Trail patients have entered treatment voluntarily and are engaged in their treatment program. After an average length of stay of 2-4 months in treatment, patients often return to living independently and pursuing school, career, or family goals.

The Role of Nurses at Skyland Trail

Nurses at Skyland Trail play a key role in the recovery of our clients. Nurses in our residential mental health facilities administer daily medications and help adult and adolescent clients learn to independently manage their medications. RNs and LPNs conduct health screenings, monitor vital signs, and record observations to contribute to the treatment team's comprehensive understanding of client progress and challenges. Professional nurses also support our clients as they work toward independently managing activities of daily living or using new skills to cope with stress or discomfort.

Nursing positions at our residential mental health facilities are great for practitioners with a specific interest in psychiatric nursing or mental health nursing as well as for nurses who are looking for a more enriching, less-corporate environment than what is typically found at a hospital or hospital system.
