Primary Care Clinic

Staffed by medical professionals trained to provide compassionate, informed care in a safe and respectful environment, the Glenn Family Wellness Clinic at Skyland Trail was the first facility in Atlanta to provide primary and preventive medical care for the unique needs of adults diagnosed with mental illness.

Adults with serious mental illness have a shorter life expectancy than their peers due to treatable medical conditions. Additionally, medications that reduce psychosis and improve mood can lead to the development of cardiometabolic syndrome, a myriad of symptoms such as high body mass index, increased cholesterol, triglycerides, blood pressure, and glucose levels. Informed healthcare with experienced physicians is an effective way to reduce future health risks, adopt healthy lifestyles, complete and understand lab results, manage chronic disease, and find specialized care when appropriate.
