Programs for Families of Adult Clients Admitting to Residential or Day Treatment
Families and primary supporters are essential for a client’s recovery from mental illness. Skyland Trail is a leader in helping families play a positive role, and also in providing support as they cope with a loved one’s illness.
Skyland Trail offers two programs for new families: weekly family welcome sessions and family orientation.
Weekly Family Welcome Sessions
Families are invited to attend this virtual welcome session the Monday after your loved one admits. Join us on zoom for a brief overview of what to expect during the client's first two weeks of treatment.
Mondays, 12:00-1:30 PM (except holidays)

Monthly Family Orientation
Family Orientation is a one-day online seminar designed to provide families of new clients practical information about the process and experience of recovery. Our goal is to welcome you to Skyland Trail and to help you feel more prepared for the challenges and improvements ahead.
Topics include:
- Our continuum of care and how your loved one may move through it
- Tips on how families can help a loved one recover
- How we communicate with families
- Programs and resources available to families
You will also have an opportunity to hear from our staff and ask your questions.
Adult Programs Family Orientation Schedule
Family Orientation for our adult treatment programs is held each month from 9:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. eastern. Family Orientation takes place virtually through Zoom online meetings.
