Mental health professionals at Skyland Trail help individuals and families find hope in times of hopelessness. And our clients work hard to make positive changes in their lives. Help celebrate their efforts this May is Mental Health Month by sharing a note of thanks and encouragement.

Messages of Encouragement

"I wanted to let you know how special you are. You have made the often difficult decision to change the direction of your life, and for that, I salute you. My daughter was at Skyland Trail a few years ago and is doing very well. Her journey continues every day. We just returned from a mother-daughter trip, which I thought was never going to be possible. Stay well, be well, and know that you are not alone."

From: Sarah

"For Clients - Know that you are absolutely in the right place. Not to sound cliche, but really "the best is yet to come" - you have so much life ahead of you. You matter!

For Staff- Know that you are changing lives and often literally saving lives! When you are feeling tired, uninspired, or burnt-out, remember what a life-changing difference you are making. Thank you!"

From: Lori Freeman

"Thank you for all you have done and continue to do to uplift, educate, support and partner with me and so many others in our community. "

From: Teresa Fischer

"To the entire Skyland Trail Team - you are all lifesavers, EVERYONE of you. Thank you for all you do to help clients, raise awareness, and remove the stigma of mental illness.

My family found Skyland Trail when my daughter was a sophomore in college. She attempted suicide and after a couple of months of healing at home was accepted into the DBT program. Today, she is a thriving 26-year-old college graduate, assistant editor at a mid-sized publishing house, and a children's book author (publication in 2022 with a BIG publishing house!). She could not have made it this far without the care she received at Skyland Trail. THANK YOU!"

From: Shane

"The entire staff at Skyland encouraged me to never ever give up hope. For that gift, I am forever grateful. With hope, there will always be a way. Thanks to you all."

From: Ann & Rob Gridley

"Thank you to every single Skyland person for making our daughter feel understood, and our whole family to feel supported. Your warmth, positivity, and willingness to hang in there during some difficult moments are so very much appreciated!"

"You guys rock! Can’t say where’d id be today without the staff and psychologist. Things aren’t always good and life isn’t always perfect. Thanks for helping me learn to face my problems and not run from them."

From: Laura

"Thank you so much for your continued work during the Covid epidemic. My daughter was inpatient during the pandemic and she still received what I consider excellent care. The staff continued their communication with us and provided excellent support. You guys rock! (am I showing my age?)"

From: Mark

"To all the staff and clients, especially at Skyland North, this soon will pass. May your future be the adventure you've been waiting for your life to be. Continue your hard work. It will get better."
