Scope
Clinical internships are closed for 2010. We will begin accepting applications in the fall for January 2011 opportunities.
Skyland Trail internships provide outstanding learning experiences for students pursuing careers in social work, psychology, nursing, occupational therapy, horticultural therapy, art therapy, recreation therapy and related programs.
All aspects of clinical service are addressed in an internship, with individualized training as needed and appropriate. Students may:
- Carry a supervised caseload
- Provide individual therapy
- Develop and lead groups
- Attend staff meetings/trainings
- Receive regular supervision from licensed professionals
Interns observe and provide supervised assistance in treatment modalities including:
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
- Behavioral Skills Training
- Dual Recovery
- Family Education
- Vocational Services
- Expressive Arts
Skyland Trail has a long-standing relationship with the Emory University Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences which has led many Emory students to our internship program. Applicants from other schools are also welcomed.
